The Midwest Pond and Koi Society's
15th Annual Goldfish Show

August 24 - 26, 2007
Darien Sportsplex: Friday: 6-9,Saturday: 9-5,Sunday: 10-3

May 23, 2007

To all Goldfish fans:

In just a few months, we will be having our 15th Annual MPKS Goldfish Show, the premier goldfish show in the Midwest. Though we aren't holding the National show as we did last year, we hope that we can bench a sizeable number of fish from our own club. If you've never shown fish before, this year is a great opportunity to get into it. This year will also be the first MPKS show to be sanctioned by the American Goldfish Association, the brand new national sanctioning body for goldfish shows in the USA.

We are also pleased to announce our first overseas judge, Mr. John Parker of the United Kingdom. John is head of the Goldfish Society of Great Britain and is considered by many goldfish aficionados to be the foremost authority on Ranchu in the Western world. Besides his affinity for Ranchu, John is also a breeder and expert on Jikin, Shubunkin, and Veiltail. We are exceptionally honored to have John judging our show as he is the leading goldfish judge in the United Kingdom.

Please note the changes in the rules this year. Instead of charging per tank as in years past, we will be charging per fish entered, as is common for many goldfish shows across the country. We've made this change to help defray the costs of new equipment for the shows. This does not mean, however, that you don't need to reserve tanks. Please be sure to reserve your tanks before August 9, 2007. Please be mindful that tanks should not be overstocked so be sure to reserve enough tanks for the fish you plan on bringing.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at sonof43@hotmail.com

Sincerely,
Jim Castillo
15th Annual MPKS Goldfish Show Chairman
