I have both Koi and Goldfish in my pond - I wish to only have Koi. I am obviously an amateur - I can't tell the difference between the two - in the next few weeks I'll be getting my pond going for the warmer season and want the Goldfish "outta here".


Actually, Diane, it's pretty easy.

As you net each fish for Spring Inspection, look at its mouth. A smooth set of fish lips without barbels identifies a goldfish. If the mouth in question has two sensory tendrils (barbels) at each of the corners, it's a koi.
