Early sign-in. This year we had 17-year cicadas instead of a rainstorm. Fair enough.	These are some of the special-auction shiros and showas.	At 11 AM, those who paid for special-auction fish drew an egg from the basket; the egg contained a number...	Then, in number order, the purchasers picked their fish.
At noon, we all moved over to the next vat, where the regular-auction fish are waiting. At the last minute, Sue Miller Enterprises found us some longfins to add to the mix. Thanks, Sue!		Pretty fish, part one	Pretty fish, part two
Pretty fish, part three	Steve Childers, editor of Koi USA, was our special guest. He netted , bowled and described the fish for the onlookers	Steve said he was impressed by the quality of the fish - not a single not-a-clue-agoi in the batch.	Show the fish around to all the bidders...
hmmmmmmm..... Sold!	and Bill Doyle bags it up for the trip home.	In just a few years they'll look like these.	The Bateman's beautiful pond.
