July 23, 2008 Update!
Hello MPKS Members: Just a quick reminder to reserve tanks for the goldfish
show. To do so, decide how many fish you will likely bring and decide how many
tanks they will require. Be sure to reserve enough so as to not overstock the
tanks. When you know how many you need, email me at sonof43@hotmail.com
to notify me. Note that there are no paper entry forms and all reservations are
done via email. When I receive your reservation, I will send you an email to confirm.
Please reserve by August 15, 2008. Space will be somewhat more limited
this year and we do not want anyone to be left out. In addition, when you reserve
tanks, it is not necessary to provide any descriptions of the fish you plan to
bring; all we need is the amount. The cost will be $3 per fish, regardless of
how many tanks you require. Also, remember to fast your fish several days
before the show so that the water quality folks don't have to do unnecessary work.
Good luck and see you in a few weeks. Dear MPKS members: In
just a few months, we will be having our 16th Annual MPKS Goldfish Show, the premier
goldfish show in the Midwest. As in years past, we hope that we can bench a sizeable
number of fish from our own club. If you've never shown fish before, this year
is a great opportunity to get into it. This year will also be the second MPKS
show to be sanctioned by the American Goldfish Association (AGA). We are
also pleased to announce that our judge this year will be Vicki Knill of Marietta,
Georgia. Vicki is a member of the Atlanta Koi Club and has been involved in the
hobby for a number of years. You can read more about Vicki on the AGA website
here: http://www.americangoldfish.org/new_page_582111112113112111.htm Due
to renovations happening at the Darien Sportsplex, we will be moving to a different
room. As such, space may be limited. Please be sure to reserve your tanks before
August 9, 2008. Please be mindful that tanks should not be overstocked so be sure
to reserve enough tanks for the fish you plan on bringing. If you
have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at sonof43@hotmail.com Sincerely,
Jim Castillo 16th Annual MPKS Goldfish Show Chairman |
