15th Annual MPKS Goldfish Show Rules
Printable Version

  1. Each exhibitor is to be a member of a recognized koi, pond, goldfish, or water garden society or club, unless said exhibitor has never shown before. This constitutes a novice.

  2. There is no limit to the number of entries per exhibitor, but all entries must be owned by the exhibitor, and the exhibitor must be present at the show.

  3. Tank reservations must be received by August 9, 2007. It is not necessary to provide detailed information about individual fish with reservations.

  4. Fees for this show will be assessed per fish at $3.00 each. Please note change from previous years.

  5. Please be kind to your fish and do not overstock the tanks. When reserving tanks, be considerate of the amount you will need for your fish. For example, two tanks is not enough tanks for nine fish.

  6. It is of paramount importance that all exhibitors fast their fish at least five days prior to the show in order to preserve water quality.

  7. Check-in will be from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 24. There will be NO Saturday morning check-in unless approved by the Show Chairperson in advance.

  8. Fish are not to be placed in the tanks by exhibitors until instructed to do so by the show committee.

  9. Fish must remain on display until the show is deemed closed on Sunday August 27 at 1:00 PM unless some other arrangement is approved by the Chairman in advance.

  10. Exhibitor is expected to attend the awards banquet so to collect their awards, especially major awards (i.e. Grand Champion, Most Unique, etc.).

  11. Goldfish will be judged according to two sizes- Mature (over three inches) and Young (less than three inches). The size will be determined by measuring the fish from the tip of the nose to the base of tail. This will constitute total body length.

  12. At check-in, each fish will be inspected for any health issues and will be placed into the proper size and category.

  13. If a fish is found to be unhealthy, it will be requested that the fish be removed in a timely fashion.

  14. Judging will begin no later than 10:00 am on Saturday August 25.

  15. Please be assured that MPKS and the show committee will take all possible precautions to assure the safety of fish entered in the show, but understand that the owner shall assume all risk and responsibilities of said fish.

  16. Fish are exhibitor fish and as such, should not be advertised for sale at any time in any fashion.

  17. Any contingencies not mentioned in the above rules are subject to the discretion of the Chairman.

  18. The decisions of the Judge, Chairman, Show Committee, and Club President are final.
